Design, Manufacture, Installation and Project Management
Izon was selected to enter into a framework agreement with VisitScotland to fit out key Tourist Information Centres across the whole of Scotland. Following our initial completion, the agreement has been extended over an additional three years and Portree was the first.
Given the rural location and distance, this was a challenging project and one which required all trades, from signage and electrics to flooring and interior design, as well as precise scheduling to ensure delivery. With Izons vast experience in project management here at home and internationally, this extensive fit out was completed within 6 weeks from concept to completion.
With this being a three-year contract, it was imperative that we delivered the highest quality design and product to ensure the standard was set for all the iCentres going forward.
With a dual-purpose space, it is key to recognise and reflect the different needs and objectives of that space. This, for example, is both a retail space as well as an information centre, therefore, creating an area that attracts those who wish to buy and those who simply wish to engage with staff about local information, without interfering with either functions, is a fine balance. Easily achieved, however, with a clear insight and understanding of both the consumer and the business.
Our design team worked closely with VisitScotland to ensure brand guidelines were met and could be delivered consistently across all centres. The results were extremely impressive and we continue to make a difference to iCentres across the Country.
